Thanks for coming!
May we find together the comfort of the Messiah and ever deeper intimacy with Yahweh in this place.
The writing life is a slow and steady process and I'm learning both discipline and patience. There's not a whole lot here yet but I'm working on a few projects, so come back often to see what God is doing or sign up for my email list below. While you're here, check out the Recent Reads page for some good book suggestions and leave me a comment with a few of your favorites so I can read them, too!

"lover of Jesus, living stone, writer; wanna-be mystic and biblical scholar..."
A person who loves Jesus. I am convinced that Jesus is better than everything in this life. I pray regularly that my heart grows to comprehend this. I do not love him more than all the things I am attached to in the world, but I want to. Because he is the only One who sets me free.
A living stone in the breastplate of the great high priest. In the Old Testament, the high priest was the only person allowed into the inner room of the temple, where God lived. This high priest would wear a breastplate that had twelve stones set into it. Each stone bore the name of one of the twelve tribes of Israel – God’s chosen people. The high priest carried these stones against his heart, into the presence of God. In the New Testament, Jesus is called "the merciful and faithful high priest (Heb 2:17),” and God’s new chosen people are called “living stones (1 Pet 2:5).” This is the coolest imagery I know for who I am. I am a precious living stone, known by name by the Savior of the world, who tucks me close against his chest and carries into the presence of a holy, loving God.
Writer: an individual who writes things.
A wanna-be mystic: a human being who longs for intimate connection with God. The word “mystic” sometimes makes people uncomfortable because its meaning is so broad. You can have a Buddhist mystic, a Hindu mystic, a Jewish mystic, etc. But you can also have a Christian mystic. This usually refers to someone who is devoted to experiencing God through the practice of prayer and self-surrender. This is what I hope to be.
And (wanna-be) biblical scholar: a student of all things Scripture. There is so much beauty in this book! I will likely never be an expert on any aspects of the Bible, but I’m blissfully happy to spend my lifetime learning as much about ancient Hebrew and Greek and ancient Near Eastern culture as I can.
